Travel Insurance Services' PPO network is organized and administered
by
Multiplan Network for Study USA.
When you go to the doctors in the network,
please mention that you have MultiPlan PPO Network plan, as
the doctor
sometimes
may not be aware of Travel Insurance Services or Study USA.
When you go to the providers in the network, they will accept the insurance card and bill the insurance company directly. Also, the network providers will only charge Network Negotiated Fee(NNF) or also called Contracted Fee. However, the plan does not restrict to visiting the providers in the network only. You can visit any doctor you wish.
When you go to the doctor outside the network, it depends upon the doctor whether to bill the insurance company directly or not. If the doctor does not accept the card, you have to first pay and then get reimbursement by filing a claim form. When you visit the doctor outside the network, there is no network negotiated fee but there is no reduction of benefits either. However, if you visit in the network, there is a $50 deductible/incident as compared to out of the network deductible of $150/incident. Insurance company will pay according to whatever the doctor charges are, of course after the deductible is paid and you still have to pay the co-insurance as applicable. When you need to file the claim, call the number at the back of the insurance card and request the
Claim Form. Make sure to file a claim form as soon as possible.
Even if the provider agrees to bill the insurance company directly,
you should still file a
Claim Form to expedite
the claim process. When the provider sends the bills to insurance company,
insurance company would need to request medical records from the provider
which provider can't give until they have authorization from you to release
the records. Filing a claim form provides such authorization.
There is no network of providers for prescription drugs(medicines).
All claims are handled by the carrier, AIG, based in USA.
